Pamela Packard

Chair

Pamela Packard is Chair of the Board of Directors of the NACD New York Chapter. She is recognized as an NACD Board Leadership Fellow and holds the CERT Certificate in Cybersecurity Oversight. She has experience serving as chair of the board and as a member and chair of audit, compensation, and nominating and governance committees. She is a qualified audit committee financial expert and has held senior management roles with P&L and operational responsibilities at a major public accounting and consulting firm.

Packard currently serves as an independent director of Gray & Company Inc., a diversified financial services holding company. She also serves on The Nathaniel Witherell board of directors, a skilled nursing facility.  Packard is a former independent director and chair of the Audit Committee of BJI Holdings (Brown Jordan International), a leading designer, manufacturer, and marketer of quality home furnishings and contract furnishings. She is also a former member of the board of directors of BDO Seidman LLP (now BDO USA LLP), the U.S. member firm of BDO International and the fifth largest global accounting and consulting firm. She previously served on the advisory boards of Planitax Inc., a leading SaaS provider to corporate tax departments, and Pension Governance LLC, a web-enabled information services company focused on the pension community.

Packard served as chairperson of the board of directors of the Financial Planning Standards Board Ltd. (FPSB Ltd.) and as chairperson of the Audit, Compensation and Succession Planning, and Nominating and Governance Committees during her tenure as a member of the Board of Directors. She has also served as director and officer of the Women's Forum Inc., a community of preeminent New York women leaders, and as director and president of the Financial Women's Association of New York, an organization dedicated to the advancement of women. .

Packard provides strategic advisory services to senior executives and businesses primarily in the professional and financial services sectors through a company she formed, Strategic Enterprises LLC. Previously, she spent nearly 25 years with the public accounting and consulting firm BDO Seidman LLP. There she rose to the positions of vice chairman and national business line leader for tax services, with P&L and operational responsibility for the tax practice, after years serving as a tax and business advisor to middle market entrepreneurial, family-owned, management-controlled, and multinational companies in the professional services, financial services, manufacturing, distribution, and retail sectors. She is a published author, editor, and speaker on tax topics, corporate governance matters, business strategy, and leadership issues.

Packard graduated from the NC School of the Arts High School as a Ballet major. She earned a BBA in Accounting, summa cum laude, from Baruch College and an MS in Taxation from Pace University, and she attended Harvard Business School for executive education. She is a CPA licensed by New York State and a member of the International Women's Forum and Extraordinary Women on Boards.
