Paul Washington

President & CEO, Society for Corporate Governance

Paul Washington is president and CEO of the Society for Corporate Governance. Previously, he led The Conference Board’s ESG Center and spent two decades at Time Warner Inc., where he served as senior vice president, deputy general counsel, and corporate secretary.

Washington’s career has also included public service at the federal, state, and local levels in all three branches of government. A former chair of the Society for Corporate Governance board, he has served on more than two dozen cultural, civic, and professional nonprofit boards and currently chairs Broadridge’s Independent Steering Committee.

For more than a decade, Washington was an adjunct professor of corporate governance at Fordham Law School and currently teaches sustainability management at Columbia University. He graduated magna cum laude from both Yale College and Fordham University School of Law.
