Mark J. Hawkins is chairman of the board at Toast, vice chairman and lead independent director at Workday, audit committee chair at Cloudflare, and lead independent director of Plaid. He is also a venture partner at NEA, an operating partner at BDT & MSD Partners, and a strategic advisor to private companies.

Previously, Hawkins served as president and CFO of Salesforce, helping scale the company into the S&P 500 and Dow Jones Industrial Average. Earlier in his career, he was CFO at Autodesk and Logitech, following senior financial leadership roles at Dell and HP.

Hawkins holds degrees from the University of Colorado and Michigan State University and completed Harvard Business School's Advanced Management Program. He was inducted into the San Francisco CFO Hall of Fame as a Lifetime Achievement recipient in 2021 and in 2024, he participated in the secretary of defense’s Joint Civilian Orientation Conference.
