Manolo Sánchez is a director at Fannie Mae (FNMA), Affirm (AFRM), Securitize (SECZ), and Stewart Information Services (STC) after having served as chair and CEO of BBVA Compass for more than a decade. He also teaches disruption in financial services at Rice University’s Jones School of Business.

Sánchez advises several fintech and blockchain startups. His banking career at BBVA spanned more than 27 years, with executive positions in the US, Mexico, France, and Spain. Sánchez has volunteered extensively in the communities where he has worked, with a focus on education, health, and the arts. He serves as a trustee of Texas Children’s Hospital.

A graduate of Yale University, Sánchez earned master’s degrees in international relations from the London School of Economics and in advanced European economics from the College of Europe in Bruges, Belgium.
