James Turgal is an executive advisor specializing in cyber risk, board relations, and education. He advises C-suite executives, audit committees, and boards of directors on cyber threats, cyber-risk governance, crisis preparedness, and business resilience. Turgal has extensive experience helping public- and private-sector organizations translate complex technology issues into strategies that address enterprise risk and strengthen organizational resilience.

Prior to joining Optiv, he spent three years in Deloitte’s cyber risk practice following a 22-year career with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. During his FBI career, Turgal served as a specialaAgent, attorney and pilot and held senior leadership roles, including special agent in charge of the Arizona Field Office, chief human capitol officer, executive assistant director of global information technology, and chief information officer.
