Carolyn Groobey, NACD.DC^®, is lead independent director of VHB, an employee-owned engineering and design firm, where she chairs the governance and compensation committees and served on the succession committee that selected the firm’s new CEO in 2025. She is chair and president of the NACD Florida Chapter, which serves more than 1,800 directors, and a board member of iVisa, a high-growth private travel document company; New World Investors, an early-stage investor group with 120 members in Florida, and Harbor House, a Maine community service organization.

She previously served on the board of venture-backed Everywhere Communications from inception through its recent private equity sale, and as vice chair of the Chesapeake Bay Foundation.

Her career includes executive roles at PayPal, Bill Me Later, Fannie Mae, and partner at McKinsey & Co.
