Mike Mathias is the Chief Financial Officer for American Eagle Outfitters, Inc.  Over the course of his long career at AEO, his functional responsibilities have included: finance, inventory planning, strategy planning, business development, real estate, technology, internal audit, legal, procurement, store and field operations, investor relations, and board governance administration.  Mike represents the company for all external wall street engagement, quarterly public earnings calls, research analyst investor conferences, and direct shareholder relations.  He also previously held leadership positions at General Nutrition Centers, Inc., and spent a decade involved in various entrepreneurial ventures as a franchisee and franchisor.  

Mike earned his BS in Business Administration from Carnegie Mellon University, and his MBA from the University of Pittsburgh Katz Graduate School of Business.  He served as a board member and treasurer of the Downs Syndrome Association of Pittsburgh.  His community involvement has included various youth athletic association board positions, years as a coach and mentor, and a volunteer and coach with Special Olympics and Casey's Clubhouse.  Mike also dedicates mentoring time to Pitt Business School's Alumni in Residence program, and is a frequent guest speaker at CMU's Tepper School of Business.
