William Etnyre, PhD, has served on the board of Etnyre International since 1999. As chair since 2017 he led the development of a comprehensive governance structure of the board, the Etnyre Foundation, and Family Council. Etnyre International’s board received a “2023 Private Company Boards of the Year Award,” presented by Private Company Director, Family Business, and Directors and Boards. It was designated “a best managed company” by Deloitte in 2024 and 2025. Etnyre spent the last 25 years of a 50-year career as a clinical social worker teaching in graduate schools of social work at the University of Washington and Smith College, attaining the rank of clinical professor in 2017. He previously served in the US Air Force. Etnyre has been a guest speaker at the Quinlan School of Business, Loyola University, Chicago, and he was a panelist at the 2024 Private Governance Summit. Etnyre has served on numerous non-profit boards during the past 50 years.
