Shubhi Rao is a founder and artificial intelligence (AI) practitioner trained in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) who is building at the intersection of gender and technology. She leads Uplevyl, an AI company that partners with enterprises and women-focused organizations to stand up to secure digital hubs. These hubs transform domain-specific, authoritative sources into bespoke intelligent AI solutions across five impact areas (women and career, money, sports, safety, and health) to unique issues and challenges women face, paired with smart community and collaboration features and an adaptive learning engine so that knowledge turns into action at scale.

Rao has spent her career blending financial rigor with technical depth. Previously, she held senior leadership roles at Alphabet Inc. (Google), Tesco, PwC, Tyco, and Ford and served on the board and audit and compensation committees of Open Lending Corp. (Nasdaq: LPRO). She was the first woman and person of color to serve as treasurer at both Alphabet and Tesco. She is among the very few STEM-trained women founders building an at-scale platform at the intersection of gender and AI.

Beyond work, Rao is a mother, wife, and fundraiser. She serves on the board of the Center for Global Development, is an executive member of UNESCO Women for Ethical AI, and has served on the executive advisory council for the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco.

She holds a bachelor of science in computer science engineering from Michigan State University and a master of business administration from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan. She is a dual citizen of the United States and the United Kingdom.
