James Bly is managing director, Family Enterprise Business Services (FEBS) at Ernst & Young LLP. He has more than 40 years' experience working with business-owning families and family offices which own family business holding companies and upper middle market companies.  

He has served as a trustee, director, committee member, or advisory board member to various single-family offices, family business holding companies, large-scale family-controlled corporations, and business-owning estates. He has also either chaired or served on strategy, finance, investment, risk management, or nominating and governance committees of the boards of various multigenerational family businesses.

Bly was a founder in 1982 and served for over 25 years as the CEO of HWSC, a multidisciplinary professional services firm, whose FEBS division was acquired by Ernst & Young LLP in 2017. Bly joined Ernst & Young LLP as a managing director, FEBS.
