Gloria Lin is a senior managing director on Evercore’s Strategic, Defense, and Shareholder Advisory team. For over 15 years, she has advised companies and their boards on activism defense, hostile takeovers, strategic alternatives, corporate governance, and shareholder engagement. Lin counsels clients on implementing best-in-class shareholder engagement and defense practices as proactive risk management—often times taking an offensive approach to avoiding hostile escalation. Prior to joining Evercore, Lin was at Citi in the Mergers and Acquisitions group. She successfully defended clients in private and public situations against activist hedge funds such as Ancora, Elliott, JANA, Legion, Sachem Head, Scopia, Starboard, Standard General, ValueAct and Third Point. Lin is also a frequent guest lecturer on various finance and M&A-related topics at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
