Elizabeth Harmon
Digital Curator, Smithsonian American Women’s History Museum
Elizabeth A. Harmon is a historian and curator with expertise in women’s history. She leads the Smithsonian American Women’s History Museum’s inaugural efforts to develop an online exhibitions program and designs research projects that use technology and crowd sourcing to make women’s history more discoverable online. Previously, Harmon worked as a digital curator at Smithsonian Libraries and Archives where she created digital resources about the history of women in science and wrote about collecting and sharing women’s history at museums. Harmon holds a doctorate from the University of Michigan, and she has worked in digital engagement in the social sector since the early 2000s.
