Tanuja Dehne is president and CEO of the Dodge Foundation, an anti-racist organization working to create a just and equitable New Jersey.
Dehne is a board member of Granite Point Mortgage Trust Inc., where she chairs the nominating and corporate governance committee. Previously, she was on the boards of Advanced Disposal Services, where she chaired the compensation committee (2017–2020); Silver Bay Realty Trust Corp., where she chaired the compensation committee and the nominating and corporate governance committee (2012–2017); and Climate Real Impact Solutions II Acquisition Corp. (2021–2022). Recently, she was a senior advisor on corporate governance matters for The B Team.
Dehne has served on several nonprofit boards, including the New Jersey Pandemic Relief Fund. Currently, she is a trustee of Lafayette College, New York Public Radio, Philanthropy New York, and AAPIP (Asian Americans/Pacific Islanders in Philanthropy).
Dehne was at NRG for 12 years, holding roles of increasing responsibility that included executive vice president, chief administrative officer, and chief of staff. Dehne oversaw NRG’s Human Resources, Information Technology, Communications, Sustainability and Corporate Marketing Departments. She also oversaw NRG’s charitable giving program, M&A integrations, and the construction of the company’s sustainable corporate headquarters. Earlier, she was NRG’s deputy general counsel and corporate secretary and was in charge of NRG’s Human Resources Department. Before NRG, Dehne practiced corporate law at Saul Ewing.
Dehne chairs the advisory board of the Center for Corporate Governance at the Raj & Kamla Gupta Governance Institute at Drexel University. She is an NACD Board Leadership Fellow and has been named to the NACD Directorship 100 (2018). Directors & Boards named her a “Director to Watch” (2017). Dehne is also a part of the BigSpeak Speakers Bureau.
Dehne holds an undergraduate degree from Lafayette College, a master’s degree in political science from the University of Pennsylvania, and a juris doctor degree with honors from Syracuse University College of Law.
