
ThaoMee Xiong

Xiong is a Hmong American attorney, nonprofit executive, and policy strategist based in Minnesota. As executive and network director of the Coalition of Asian American Leaders (CAAL), she works to advance racial and gender equity in Minnesota.
Xiong has served in influential roles across sectors, such as directing intergovernmental affairs, teaching immigration law, and securing millions in public funding for underserved communities.
In 2024, she led the legislative strategy to secure $200,000 in state funding for Asian American Women Entrepreneurs bill, the first bill of its kind in Minnesota. She also developed the CAAL Ignite Fund, a multi-million-dollar philanthropic initiative designed to move power and resources directly into community hands.
Xiong currently serves on several civic boards, including Women Winning, the Community Advisory Board of the Minneapolis Federal Reserve, the Governor’s Community Council on Inclusion and Equity, and Children’s Hospital Minnesota’s community advisory council.
