Johnson-Mills currently serves on boards for two public companies and one private company. She serves on the nominating and governance committee of Owens & Minor and chairs the nominating and governance committee of Nyxoah and the audit committee of Quest Analytics. Johnson-Mills has more than 30 years of health-care experience on national, state, and private industry levels. She spent 10 years in state government and moved to the US Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services to oversee Medicaid Managed Care. She then moved into private industry, serving as market CEO for Centene Corp. and UnitedHealthcare. She is currently senior advisor for CINQCARE.

Johnson-Mills also served on the board of Brookdale Senior Living and chaired the NGC. Johnson-Mills has received numerous awards and honors over her career, including Director to Watch and Most Admired CEO and was most recently inducted into the YWCA of Nashville & Middle Tennessee’s Academy for Women of Achievement.
