Peter Blair Henry is chair of the board of the National Bureau of Economic Research and serves on the boards of Citigroup, Nike, and Analog Devices Inc. He is the class of 1984 senior fellow at Stanford’s Hoover Institution and a senior fellow at the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies.

As dean of New York University’s Stern School of Business (2010–2017), Peter doubled the school’s average annual fundraising. He also served as the Konosuke Matsushita Professor of International Economics at Stanford’s Graduate School of Business.

With support from the Hoover Institution and the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, Peter leads the PhD Excellence Initiative, which mentors underrepresented students pursuing economics doctorates, and received the 2022 Impactful Mentoring Award from the American Economic Association.

A Rhodes Scholar and Morehead-Cain Scholar, he holds degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Oxford, and University of North Carolina–Chapel Hill.
