This program will provide an overview of best practices and practical advice for directors looking to create and implement an effective shareholder engagement program. As a board director, learn what you should be asking, why and when as well as when and how to participate, along with other important best practices.
From the company perspective, shareholder engagement is an opportunity to build relationships and trust with institutional holders and for independent directors to contribute their leadership and oversight perspective to the process. From the investor perspective, the goal is to exercise their fiduciary responsibility in protecting the value of their clients’ assets by engaging with management and the board on topics ranging from strategy to governance to risk oversight.
This discussion will be moderated by Dick Poladian, and experience lead and board director with guest speakers, Chris Mitchell, an experienced director, and Moira Conlon, a communications professional, all of whom have been through this process many times.
