FOR SEATED BOARD MEMBERS ONLY
Join us for a dynamic session led by Professor Suraj Srinivasan, the Harvard Business School expert on corporate boards. Via an interactive case study discussion, we will consider a number of tricky issues, including:
- How boards can prepare for a crisis
- What happens when shareholder or social activists make demands that the board believes are not in the best interest of the company
- How to respond for demands related to changes in management and compensation
- How to think about crises in the context of risk management
- How to build internal resiliency
- Best practices for approaching crisis response
- And much more!
Expect an interactive and informative discussion, and a lot of fun, as we navigate issues that will be challenging for even our most experienced members. Case study will be sent to participants in advance.
I am a professor at Harvard Business School where my research, consulting, and teaching spans the areas of boards of director effectiveness, digital transformation, and strategy execution. I lead Harvard Business School’s suite of board of director programs, “Making Corporate Boards More Effective,” “Preparing to be a Corporate Director,” "Accelerating Board Diversity" and two programs for audit committees and compensation committees. I also chair the Digital Value Lab at the Harvard Digital, Data and Design Institute. In addition to HBS educational programs, I work with boards on director training, evaluation, and board workshops and retreats. I work extensively with companies and entrepreneurs on strategy execution, as Chair the HBS program "Driving Organizational Agility," by facilitating strategy retreats and as an advisor to management teams and CEOs. I also co-lead the MBA program at HBS as Chair of the elective Curriculum and serve on the Board of Directors of Harvard Business Publishing Company.
