About The Event
Fireside Chat with Bhaskar Chakravorti, Dean of Global Business - Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy moderated by Sandy Moose, Senior Advisor - Boston Consulting Group.
Many company boards already deliberate geopolitical risks with respect to a specific investment, project, or market entry/exit. As a result, boards often fail to examine the broader strategic landscape, full range of risk scenarios and consequences, or key decision points.
Globalization involves both opportunities and risks and includes: 1) market volatility; 2) the spread of technology; 3) supply chain and partnerships; 4) access to capital; 5) the impacts of both emerging and unstable markets including changes in former stable markets (ex. Ukraine) and risk of future changes (ex. Taiwan); 6) government decisions impacting trade flows (ex. trade restrictions); and 5) the continuing growth and global demand for products.
This session will discuss geopolitical risks from the viewpoint of strategy development discussions in the corporate boardroom. Does your company understand the geopolitics impact on your business, whether or not it sells and manufactures outside the US? How do you understand the current geopolitical issues and opportunities when developing your companies’ long-term strategies? What current issues should your board have on its radar?
