Talent Remains King While Climate Risk Is a Lesser Concern, Latest NACD Public Company Survey Finds

New US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) proposed rules, geopolitical and social tensions, and record inflation combined with sinking stock prices have rocked public companies in the first half of the year. A recent NACD survey identified the top five trends having an impact on directors at public companies. The top issue facing directors in 2022 has been the increased competition for talent (69 percent). More than half of directors identified rising inflation (51 percent) as a concern and the next three trends facing them (ranked equally at 38 percent) were the uncertain pace of the economic recovery, the pace of digital transformation, and changing cybersecurity threats...
