Woodrow (Woody) Myers is a physician and a nationally recognized leader in public health, the development of medical quality initiatives and advanced healthcare management programs. As Managing Director of Myers Ventures LLC, he has coupled his passion for the highest standards of patient care and management, with leadership roles in several our nation’s largest and most innovative healthcare enterprises. Today he serves as an Advisor to LightSpeed Venture Partners and on Boards of Directors of Personalis, Inc. (NASDAQ: PSNL), and Freespira Inc. He is a member of the Public Health Policy Committee of eHealth Inc. (NASDAQ: EHTH).

Through Myers Ventures LLC, Dr. Myers has served as Chief Medical Officer and Chief Healthcare Strategist for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona, CEO for Valitàs Health Services (Corizon Health) and as a consultant to the California Endowment. He has served on multiple other public, private, and nonprofit boards including Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals, Express Scripts, Genomic Health, LipoScience, and SynGen. In higher education, he served on the Board of Trustees of Stanford University, the Board of Overseers of Harvard University and the Board of Trustees of the Charles R. Drew University School of Medicine and Science.

In November 2020, Dr. Myers was the Democratic candidate for Governor of Indiana. And in 2008 Dr. Myers he was a candidate in the Democratic primary election for the Indiana 7th Congressional district.

He is a former executive vice president and chief medical officer of WellPoint, Inc. where he established the Healthcare Quality Assurance Division. Dr. Myers also served as the director of healthcare management at the Ford Motor Company where he initiated quality assurance metrics for Ford healthcare vendors and established new global health and safety policies to benefit Ford and its employees. Prior to Ford, he was Corporate Medical Director for The Associated Group (now Elevance Health). He is a former health commissioner for New York City and the State of Indiana. He is deeply committed to improving healthcare quality, availability, and efficiency around the globe. He is passionate about innovation and technology upgrades that will contribute to human longevity.

Dr. Myers maintains licensure for the practice of medicine in Indiana and California. An Indianapolis Indiana native, he is also a business owner, husband, father, and grandfather. Woody is a proud product of the Indianapolis Public Schools and a graduate of Shortridge High School. He completed his undergraduate studies at Stanford University (BS with Honors in Biological Sciences) and his medical degree (MD) from Harvard University, and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Stanford University. He completed two fellowships, the Robert Wood Johnson Health Policy Fellowship (UCSF/Stanford) and Critical Care Medicine (Stanford). Early in his medical career he worked as an emergency room physician and as a critical care intensivist and in both roles as a clinical teacher. Woody lives in Indianapolis Indiana with his wife Stacy. Together, they have five children and three grandchildren.
