Rick Urschel is the president and CEO at Urschel Laboratories Inc., the world leader in the designing, manufacturing, and selling of precision food cutting equipment. Urschel food processing equipment is used by every major food processing manufacturer in the United States and in over 120 countries worldwide.

"Officially," Urschel has been with the company for 27 years, however, he started doing odd jobs in the plant when he was six.

Up until March of 2016, the business had been in the family since his great-grandfather founded the company in 1910. The shareholders have since sold the company to the employees, and the company is now 100 percent employee-owned. Urschel still remains as the CEO. Urschel is a member of the board of directors for Taylor Guitars, the industry leader in finely-crafted acoustic guitars.

He has been named to the Northwest Indiana Times 20 Under 40.
