

Patrick Antkowiak

Patrick Antkowiak is a strategy, technology and business executive and board leader with deep experience in aerospace, defense, industrial software, and technology”¯markets, including as Chief Technology and Strategy Officer for Northrop Grumman, a $60B+ market capitalization corporation. A science and technology leader, he is proven in global technology development, strategy and portfolio shaping, engineering, cybersecurity, enterprise risk management, business development, budgeting, organizational and leader development. He is currently a member of the board of directors of AspenTech (NASDAQ AZPN), a global software leader in the digital transformation of asset intensive industries for performance optimization and sustainability. Pat’s career spanned over 38 years at Northrop Grumman and was responsible for R&D strategy and technology generation/business capture first at the company’s Electronics Systems sector as the General Manager of Advanced Concepts and Technologies Division, and then at the corporate level as Chief Technology and Strategy Officer, where he led the company’s technology development strategy focused on competitive differentiation in emerging technology areas. As Chief Strategy and Technology Officer, he built and executed the company’s strategy for organic growth in emerging mission and technology areas including hypersonic systems, quantum computing/transformational computing, digital transformation, artificial intelligence and machine learning, next generation air dominance, and space. He developed initiatives to build global R&D presence aligned with the company’s international business strategy, with focus on UK and Australia. He was the company’s leader in shaping and engaging with government customers, university partners, and industry liaisons on science and technology matters. He also had significant experience with the board at Northrop Grumman, briefing them on special technology projects, strategy, risk management, and human capital strategy. He has public company board experience as a member of the board and audit committee at AspenTech, including cybersecurity and risk management governance and oversight. He is an outside director and member of the board for Frequentis Defense Inc, a subsidiary of Frequentis AG and leading provider of secure voice, digital tower, and military air traffic control systems. Pat also founded a strategy and technology consulting business to help companies drive performance in emerging technologies, business disruption and opportunity, and human capital development. Pat serves as a member of the Department of the Air Force Scientific Advisory Board, the principal external advisory body to the Secretary and of the Air Force and Chief of Staff on scientific and technology matters. He is a member Board of Directors for the Advanced Robotics for Manufacturing (ARM) Institute, a non-profit focused on accelerating the development and adoption of innovative robotics technologies and workforce strategies for the nation. He is a member of The Johns Hopkins University’s Whiting School of Engineering Dean’s advisory board; one of the nation’s leading engineering schools and top ranked biomedical engineering program. He received his BSEE in electrical and computer engineering (ECE) from The Johns Hopkins University, and his MSEE from the University of Maryland, where he was honored with the ECE department’s Distinguished Alumni award and chosen to deliver the Clark School of Engineering Winter Commencement address. He also attended the General Manager’s program at Harvard Business School.
