Michael Wizniak

Michael Wizniak is a geopolitical strategist and Associate Teaching Professor of International Management, Strategy, and Information Systems at the Henry W. Bloch School of Management, University of Missouri – Kansas City, where he received the 2021 Faculty Impact Award. In addition to his role at the university, he has been consulting over the past two decades for multinational corporations, primarily those with operations in the Indo-Pacific region. Michael specializes in global industry value chain analysis and systems design for real-time environmental scanning and strategic decision making. He was trained in Korean linguistics at the DOD’s Defense Language Institute in Monterey, CA, but was also proficient in German, Ukrainian, and Japanese and has been living and working on projects in Europe and East Asia since the 1990s. Mr. Wizniak has a BA in History from the University of Kansas, focused on East Asia and international political economy, and an MBA from the University of Missouri – Kansas City, focused on global development and industry value chain analysis. He has served on a variety of boards, including the International Relations Council, United Nations Association, Sister Cities Association, and the People to People International chapter responsible for helping sponsor the international officers from over 80 countries that train every year at the US Army Command and General Staff College in Ft. Leavenworth. Michael is a proud veteran, an alumnus of the FBI Citizens Academy and GKC Chamber’s Centurions Leadership Program, and advises Kansas City’s oldest investment club.
