Maureen Bujno is a managing director with Deloitte & Touche LLP and serves as the Deloitte Governance Services Leader and Audit & Assurance Governance Leader for Deloitte’s Center for Board Effectiveness. She is a recognized subject matter resource on a variety of several governance, strategy, and risk-related topics, as well as timely and emerging topics that pose challenges to companies. Maureen is a frequent speaker to public and private company boards, including family enterprises, private equity and portfolio company boards, and other audiences.

As the Governance Services Leader, Maureen leads client engagements working with executives and board and committees focused on education sessions to customized projects focused on enhancing the governance framework and practices to robust board and committee assessments. Further, Maureen is a lead facilitator for client board and committee labs for those transitioning to a board or to a board or committee leadership role.

Maureen is active in several industry organizations and currently a member of the Advisory Board of the University of Delaware Weinberg Center for Corporate Governance, former member of the Council of Institutional Investors Markets Advisory Council and an active member of the National Association of Corporate Directors and the Society for Corporate Governance. Maureen has been recognized multiple times by NACD Directorship Magazine as one of the top 100 influential professionals in corporate governance and in the boardroom.

Maureen is a member of the Fairfield University Board of Trustees and is former President and ex-officio member of the Fairfield University Alumni Association board of directors and a former member of the University’s Dolan School of Business Advisory Board. In 2022, Maureen was awarded with the Fairfield University Alumni Service Award.

Maureen is a senior executive with over 33 years of business experience at Deloitte. Prior to leading the development of the Center for Board Effectiveness 20 years ago, Maureen worked in the Merger and Acquisition Services group and began her career in the Audit practice. Maureen is a CPA in New York and a member of the AICPA. Maureen holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Fairfield University.
