Mary Kipp
President and CEO of Puget Sound Energy and board member of Boston Properties (NYSE: BXP) and Hawaiian Electric
Mary E. Kipp was named president of Puget Sound Energy in August 2019 and CEO in January 2020. Under her direction, Puget Sound Energy is working toward an aspirational goal of being a Beyond Net Zero Carbon energy company by 2045, targeting reduction of its carbon emissions to net zero and going beyond that goal by helping other sectors enable carbon reduction across the state of Washington. Kipp also worked as a lawyer at El Paso Natural Gas Co. and at Greenberg Traurig LLP. Prior to El Paso Electric, Kipp was a prosecuting attorney for the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission for four years, investigating and prosecuting violations of federal energy laws. Kipp is a member of the board of directors and the sustainability and audit committee of Boston Properties. She is also a member of the board of directors and audit committee of Hawaiian Electric. Kipp serves as co-chair of the Edison Electric Institute’s Institute for Electric Innovation and was the first vice chair of the Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce. She is a past deputy chair of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, former vice chair of the board of directors of the Alliance to Save Energy, and a former board member of Energy Insurance Mutual Ltd and Seattle University.
