Global Corporate Governance & ESG Advisory Leader, Aon

Laura Wanlass is a Partner and a Leader within Aon’s Executive & Board Advisory practice, providing strategic consulting to boards and executive leadership teams across the globe, on data led approaches to the oversight, strategy, and execution of corporate governance, ESG, human capital and other emerging topics of importance. 

Areas of consulting expertise includes assistance in benchmarking key datapoints against industry practices and stakeholder expectations (including regulators, investors and insurance carriers), creating external communication strategy (i.e., regulatory filings (10-K, DEF 14A), ESG reporting, corporate website and more), creating board and c-suite level reporting and dashboards (i.e., on human capital management and ESG related metrics), and in conducting board and c-suite level education sessions (i.e., ongoing education and onboarding sessions). She is also a dedicated advisor to numerous Nominating & Governance and Executive Compensation Committees. ​ 

Laura received a J.D. from the Lewis and Clark Law School and a B.S. in economics from the University of Utah. She also received a certification from the MIT Sloan School on "Artificial Intelligence: Implications for Business Strategy.” Laura is a frequent industry speaker and author on corporate governance, human capital management and ESG. Laura is also the Vice President of the Phoenix Chapter of the National Association of Stock Plan Professionals (NASPP). ​ 

In her off-time time, Laura is a driver for the Ford Performance racing team, as a 6x competitor in the Rebelle Rally (3x podium finisher and 3x daily stage winner), and an official off-road driving and navigation instructor for Rebelle U. ​
