Kim Nelson is an independent board director at Colgate-Palmolive Company, Cummins Inc., and Tate and Lyle, PLC. Kim retired in 2018 from nearly 30 years in operating and corporate roles at General Mills. In Kim’s last seven years with the company, she served in the C-suite as SVP, External Relations leading the corporate brand, sustainability, consumer relations, communications, external stakeholder relations, issue and crisis management, and philanthropy. In the 23 years prior to this assignment, Kim held a series of operating roles, including serving as the President of the company’s $1.2B Snack Food Division, where she drove double digit revenue and profit growth during her 6 year tenure. Kim was a founding member of the company’s Black Champions Network, co-founder of its Women-In-Marketing Network, and leader of its Women’s Officer Group. Kim lives in Minnesota with her husband of 30 years where she is an active member of the Twin Cities community.
