Jon is a Vice President for Bernstein Private Wealth Management for the Rocky Mountain Region. In this role, he is responsible for providing analysis and insights in the capital markets to develop unique strategies to enhance client relationships and professional alliances in the communities we serve. Underkofler has nearly 30 years of banking, investment management, and financial planning experience, as well as professional expertise in financial, estate, retirement, and charitable planning. He joined Bernstein from BNY Mellon where he was the director of the overall wealth management strategy, including new business and relationship development of the firm's clientele in the Rocky Mountain Region while also leading the National M&A practice. Prior to that, he held positions with Wells Fargo, JPMorgan Chase, and Citigroup Smith Barney, working in banking and financial advisory roles respectively. Underkofler attended Arizona State University studying Economics and then went on to further his education at Northwestern University for a Master’s in Finance. In addition, he has received designations as a Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor (CRPC®), an Accredited Asset Management Specialist (AAMS®), and is a Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA®). Jon has taken a special interest in philanthropic giving strategies and is an avid supporter of many non-profit organizations throughout the local Denver community and also an advisor to several national foundations and endowments. Jon and his wife, along with their children, live locally in Highlands Ranch, Colorado, where they enjoy boating, skiing, hiking, and biking, making Colorado a perfect fit for the quality of life they desired both personally and professionally.
