Jacob is a Partner with PwC’s Financial Services Risk and Regulatory practice, focusing on helping clients adapt to regulatory and business change, with a deep understanding of banking and capital markets regulations and financial technology innovation. Jacob leads PwC’s fintech and bank chartering efforts. Jacob advises management of fintechs, large and midsize national banks and federal savings associations, and their holding companies regarding applicable laws, regulations and policies, and compliance with new and existing regulations. He leads cross functional teams in the formulation and execution of plans to enable growth strategies, and guide management’s understanding of risk and regulatory implications for their strategic plans. Jacob advises clients on financial technology, including open banking, cloud computing, payment hubs, banking core technology and artificial intelligence. His focus areas include regulations and guidance issued by the FRB, OCC, FDIC, CFPB, SEC, CFTC, and FFIEC. Prior to joining PwC, Jacob worked with both the U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. Senate during the debate and passage of the Dodd-Frank Act and the Securities and Exchange Commission in the Office of the General Counsel, in its legal policy group. While at the SEC, Jacob reviewed proposed securities enforcement actions to determine whether they were legally and factually sufficient. Jacob earned his law degree, cum laude, at the American University Washington College of Law, where he served as an articles editor for the American University International Law Review. He received his B.A. in Political Science from Trinity College. Jacob lives outside Washington, DC with his wife, Elisabeth and three children, Grace (5), Rosie (3) and James (newborn). When not working, Jacob enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, traveling, and rooting on his Buffalo Bills.
