Hannah Pingree

Former Speaker of the Maine House

Hannah Pingree is a lifelong Mainer, leader, and mom who knows how to get things done. Raised on the island of North Haven, she’s led at every level—serving as Maine’s Speaker of the House, running a small business, chairing her local school board, and directing the Governor’s Office of Policy Innovation and the Future. From expanding access to health care and affordable housing to helping lead Maine’s nation-leading climate work, Hannah brings people together and delivers real results for Maine families.

Elected to the Maine House at 25, Hannah Pingree became the youngest woman in the nation—and only the second in Maine—to serve as Speaker. During her eight years in the Legislature, she earned a reputation for bipartisan leadership and delivered results on broadband, clean energy, health care, reproductive rights, housing, and marriage equality.

After the Legislature, Hannah ran a small business and a local housing organization, focused on raising her two young kids, and chaired her local school board. In 2019, Governor Mills tapped her to lead the Office of Policy Innovation and the Future, where she tackled big challenges—like housing, workforce, and Maine’s economic recovery.

Hannah continues to live on North Haven with her husband, Jason Mann, their two awesome kids and one lovable dog.
