Dr. Shenay Jeffrey

Manager of Community Relationships at UPMC’s Center for Workplace Culture and Community Engagement

Dr. Shenay Jeffrey serves as the Manager of Community Relationships at UPMC’s Center for Workplace Culture and Community Engagement, where she leads efforts to advance health equity through strategic partnerships and inclusive engagement with diverse communities. Her work drives impactful initiatives in employee volunteerism, K–12 STEAM education, community health, and nonprofit capacity building—helping to expand access and representation in healthcare.

With over 15 years of experience in community engagement, Dr. Jeffrey previously served as Director of the Office of PittServes at the University of Pittsburgh and as President of the Urban League Young Professionals of Greater Pittsburgh. A passionate advocate for civic education and social justice, she has dedicated her career to empowering BIPOC students and young professionals.

Her leadership and service have earned her numerous accolades, including:

Deeply rooted in the Pittsburgh community, Dr. Jeffrey holds leadership roles with the Neighborhood Learning Alliance and the National Association of Health Services Executives–Pittsburgh Chapter. She also serves on the Human Relations Commission and Police Relations Committee in the Borough of Swissvale, where she is currently a candidate for Swissvale Borough Council, furthering her commitment to equitable civic engagement and responsive local leadership.

In addition, Dr. Jeffrey serves on the board of Allies for Health and Wellbeing, a Pittsburgh-based nonprofit that empowers individuals and communities through high-quality integrated medical care and supportive human services. From inclusive primary care to holistic HIV treatment, Allies ensures that everyone has access to compassionate, comprehensive care.

Proud of her Guyanese heritage, Dr. Jeffrey finds joy in all things Caribbean—from Soca music and fried plantains to coconut water, dominos, steel band, and sweet mangoes. A devoted plant lover and adventurous traveler, she and her husband Brandon have explored four continents, 14 countries, and 19 states—and they’re just getting started.
