

Laurie Readhead
Bank of America Chief Data Officer (retired)
Laurie Readhead is a seasoned senior global banking and finance executive with over 30 years of experience at Bank of America. Her career reflects a demonstrated track record, grounded in accounting and financial disciplines that position her as a financial expert under SEC/NYSE/NASDAQ guidelines. She held the Consumer Banking CFO and Global Corporate and Investment Banking CFO roles which included all business financial management responsibilities.
She’s experienced in risk management and governance with her roles as Chief Data Officer (CDO) and Chief Information Officer (CIO). In these roles she was responsible for large-scale transformation efforts that include how data is architected and governed across the company, management of the enterprise initiative portfolio that focused on complex change programs, and management of critical enterprise technology platforms.
Most recently she was the Chief Data Officer leading a $1.5 billion transformation of the bank’s data management capabilities. Efforts focused on redesigning the bank’s data governance to improve operational risk management, ensure regulatory compliance and facilitate cyber security. Her leadership in defining a data architectural strategy, implementation of a data operations function, and the deployment of related technologies enabled company stakeholders to expand their data and analytics capabilities. This work positioned Bank of America as an industry leader in how financial services approach their data architecture, risks, and controls.
As CDO, she established an Artificial Intelligence (AI) governance function, focused on ensuring effective risk management in the design and deployment of AI solutions.
As the Consumer Banking CFO, Laurie also functioned as the business COO with responsibilities for deposit pricing, business investment decisioning, and coordination of financial processes and systems integrations through a period of bank acquisitions and growth. Her Consumer Banking CFO role led to business operational roles that included managing contact centers and expansion of the enterprise online banking function.
Laurie is known as a thought leader with strong collaboration and communication skills. This is reflected in her ability to lead across multidisciplinary functions to drive alignment with corporate vision and strategic objectives.
She engaged with the Bank of America board and its Audit, Finance, and Risk committees to provide strategic and operational updates. She also frequently engaged with regulators for purposes of demonstrating adherence to applicable laws, rules and regulations.
Laurie’s passion for diversity and inclusion drove her CEO appointment as Vice Chair for the Corporate Global Diversity and Inclusion Council, responsible for coordinating D&I efforts across the company. Laurie was also an active sponsor of various employee networks, including LEAD, for women, and HOLA, supporting the bank’s Hispanic/Latino workforce.
Laurie serves on the United Negro College Fund (UNCF) board and is a member of the Executive, Finance, and Nominating Committees. She’s held Charlotte nonprofit board roles with the Arts & Science Council and Girl Scouts, serving on their strategic planning committees. She also serves as an Executive Advisor to the EY Technology Icons Council.
Laurie graduated from the University of Arizona with a BA in accounting.
