Lauren Valiente is a partner at Foley & Lardner and an Independent Board Director at HCI Group (NYSE: HCI).  As an attorney, she helps protect the reputation and success of her clients by guiding them through intricate corporate governance challenges. Her practice is focused on defending clients in government enforcement actions, complex internal investigations, governance counseling, and high stakes civil litigation. She counsels public and private companies, as well as their officers and directors, through these trying and complex situations by applying her lessons learned through years of experience.  Understanding the client’s perspective is critically important to Lauren. Since 2021, she has served on the board of directors of HCI Group, Inc., a Florida-based publicly traded company that, through its subsidiaries, is engaged in property and casualty insurance, reinsurance, real estate and information technology.  She currently serves on HCI’s Compensation and Sustainability committees.  In 2024, Lauren was recognized by Florida Trend as one of the “Legal Elite NOTABLE Women Leaders in Law,” and by BoardProspects as one of the ”100 Hispanic Board Members Making a Difference.”
