Jeff Swerdlow
Senior Director
Jeff Swerdlow is a Senior Director with the Compensation and Benefits group of Alvarez & Marsal Taxand, LLC in Denver, CO. He brings experience assisting public, privately held, private equity and non-profit organizations as an executive compensation consultant and attorney. Prior to its acquisition by A&M, Mr. Swerdlow joined Compensation & Benefit Solutions, LLC in March 2011. Throughout his career, Jeff has focused primarily on assisting companies in evaluating, designing and administering compensation programs and incentive plans. In addition, he has focused on developing his technical expertise to assist clients with Internal Revenue Code sections 409A, 280G and 162(m) matters as they arise in the development and administration of compensation plans. Mr. Swerdlow’s work with clients in the oil and gas, and mining industries has taught him the importance of designing compensation programs and incentive plans that continue to incentive employees without putting companies at risk for unsustainable compensation costs when commodity prices are no longer favorable. His experience helping to administer plans on an employee level has provided him with invaluable insight into what benefits are truly valued by the employees and his work with management has helped him to better understand what benefit costs are sustainable while providing direct links to company growth and profitability. Mr. Swerdlow now utilizes these experiences to help better design and implement compensation plans across all industries that continue to motivate employees while also aligning with company performance goals. Mr. Swerdlow’s introduction to the executive compensation field, shortly after the introduction of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, provided him with an opportunity to develop expertise in the newly formulated pay-for-performance analyses being introduced by the various institutional shareholder representative companies. Mr. Swerdlow earned a bachelor’s degree from Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pennsylvania, his J.D. from Stetson University College of Law, and his LL.M. in taxation from the University of Denver. Jeff has been admitted to both the Florida Bar and Colorado Bar.
