Hector Mojena began his career at KPMG in 1983. He was elected to the partnership in 1994 and spent most of his career as the lead audit partner on large, multinational consumer and industrial market companies such as The Home Depot, AutoNation, Burger King Corp., Winn-Dixie Stores, Compass Group North America, Watsco, Ryder System, Terremark Worldwide, and Florida Crystals, among others. Mojena most recently served as the regional managing partner for KPMG’s audit practice in Latin America and oversaw their audit operations in seventeen countries. He also previously served as the partner in charge of the South Florida business unit and as the managing partner of the Miami office. Mojena took a leading role in KPMG’s Audit Committee Institute, which is dedicated to providing audit committees and other board members with practical insights, resources, and peer-exchange opportunities focused on strengthening oversight of financial reporting and addressing the challenges facing boards and businesses. During his career, he served on various non-profit boards including the United Way Miami, the Beacon Council, the University of Miami School of Accounting advisory board, Voices for Children Foundation, the Performing Arts Center Foundation, Junior Achievement, and the Association for Public Corporations, among others. Mojena retired from KPMG on Sept. 30, 2021.
