President and CEO, Goodwill Easter Seals

Dr. Michael Wirth-Davis will lead the track session on: - Power of board training and governance education - Translating professional skill to meet the needs of organization and match structure and capacity Dr. Michael Wirth-Davis has served as President and CEO of Goodwill-Easter Seals Minnesota (St. Paul) since 1990 and President of the Goodwill-Easter Seals Foundation since 2014. He has more than 35 years of experience in a variety of nonprofit and community leadership positions. He is currently serving on the board of directors of National Easter Seals and Workability International. He recently served as a founding board member of GoodwillFinds.com, an ecommerce platform. He has served in national leadership roles for both Goodwill Industries International (GII) and Easterseals, serving on their boards and a variety of board committees. Locally he has served on the local boards of MN Council of Nonprofits, Charities Review Council, Nonprofit Assistance Fund, and the Midway YMCA; and has participated in the Itasca Project and on the Baldrige Minnesota Quality Award Panel of Judges. He has received numerous local and national leadership awards. Wirth-Davis is a long-serving adjunct faculty member for the University of Minnesota’s Humphrey Graduate School of Public Affairs and served with the Humphrey School’s Future Services Institute. He was also an adjunct faculty member for Hamline University’s School of Business Graduate Program in Nonprofit Management. He served on the faculty advisory committee and the Dean’s search committee. He holds a doctorate in Public Administration and Management. His interests include nonprofit board governance, strategic thinking/planning, management, ethics, diversity, equity and inclusion, and international rehabilitation. Goodwill-Easter Seals Minnesota was founded in 1919 as the St. Paul Goodwill. Its original site was the Church of the Good Shepherd at 12th Street East and Cedar Street in downtown Saint Paul. In 2022, GESMN provided services to 4,317 people, helped 629 individuals enter competitive employment, and helped 108 people advance in their careers.
