M. Christian Mitchell

Mr. Mitchell has over forty-five years of experience advising investors, federal regulatory agencies, senior management, and corporate boards of directors on financial reporting, risk management, valuation, governance, regulation, capital markets, and mergers and acquisitions. He is a seasoned and recognized corporate boardroom leader and strategic advisor. 

Mr. Mitchell is a director of Pacific Premier Bancorp, Inc. (NASDAQ: PPBI), a regional bank holding company; AG Mortgage Investment Trust, Inc. (NYSE: MITT), a residential mortgage REIT externally managed by AG REIT Management, LLC, an affiliate of Angelo, Gordon & Co., L.P. (TPG Angelo Gordon), a diversified credit and real estate platform within TPG.; and Parsons Corp. (NYSE: PSN), a leading provider of innovative technology-driven solutions in the defense, intelligence, and critical infrastructure markets. Mr. Mitchell is Senior Advisor to and former Vice Chairman of the board of directors for Marshall & Stevens, a national valuation and financial advisory firm.  

Mr. Mitchell is formerly a director of PS Business Parks (NYSE: PSB), an equity industrial REIT sold to Blackstone Real Estate; Stearns Holdings LLC, a Blackstone-owned independent national mortgage company sold to Guaranteed Rate; Reis, Inc. (NASDAQ: REIS), a real estate information company sold to Moody’s Corporation (NYSE: MCO); Grandpoint Capital, a private equity-sponsored bank holding company sold to Pacific Premier Bancorp Inc (NASDAQ: PPBI); two other bank holding companies; a registered investment company; and a fund of funds hedge fund. Mr. Mitchell has experience as Board Chair and Lead Independent Director and chairing various committees.  

Mr. Mitchell is a retired Deloitte senior partner and served as the National or Regional Managing Partner for various practices including audit, enterprise risk services, and financial services during his 26-year career. He was a founding member of the board of directors of Deloitte Consulting USA. In addition, Mr. Mitchell served as an Accounting Fellow to the Federal Home Loan Board in Washington, D.C.   

Mr. Mitchell is a former member of the board of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), Arlington, VA. He is also Chairman Emeritus of the NACD Pacific Southwest chapter, and a NACD Board Leadership Fellow. In 2011 and 2012 Mr. Mitchell was named "one of the 100 most influential people in corporate governance" by Directorship magazine. Mr. Mitchell has been a member of the board of directors of several non-profit organizations, including Huntington Health Systems (an affiliate of Cedars-Sinai Health System) in Pasadena, CA. He served as an adjunct professor of accounting at the University of Redlands. Mr. Mitchell is a summa cum laude graduate of and current member of the Board of Visitors of the Culverhouse College of Business for the University of Alabama.
