Steve is an experienced board director, venture investor, executive, entrepreneur, scientist, and author. Currently he is CEO of Thynk, a digital health company improving academic skills for kids. Previously, Steve cofounded and was Managing Director at Excel Venture Management, an investment firm that invested $225M in more than 40 life science companies. He also cofounded and/or held senior executive positions in several private and public life science companies, including being CEO of Gemphire Therapeutics, a Nasdaq company. In addition, he has served on many private and public life science boards and is currently a board director at Orionis Biosciences, iSpecimen, Navigation Sciences, Alexis Bio, and Thynk. Steve began his career as a professor at Harvard Medical School where he co-authored 130 scientific papers and was elected a member of AAAS and AHA. Steve loves innovation and has spoken widely, including at TED, TEDMED, and TEDx and, with Juan Enriquez, he co-authored Evolving Ourselves.
