Profile - Sara Spiering Sara Spiering Principal; Member, CEO & Board Practices Heidrick & Struggles Sara Spiering is a principal in Heidrick & Struggles’ Global CEO & Board of Directors Practice. She focuses on searches for nonexecutive directors, nonexecutive and executive chairs, and CEOs, and on CEO and board succession planning and corporate-governance consulting engagements. Spiering has completed some 200 nonexecutive director searches across all sectors, primarily focusing on Fortune 500 companies. She previously served as lead engagement manager and led the Board and Chief Executive Officers Practices’ internal professional development and mentoring initiatives. Spiering joined Heidrick in 2009, after previously working as an attorney with the law firm of DeWitt Ross & Stevens. Spiering is a member of the International Women’s Forum, served on the Ambassadors Board of the Chicago Children’s Choir, and was included in Fortune’s 2014 Most Powerful Women: Next Generation.
Profile - Daniel Wagner Daniel Wagner CEO Country Risk Solutions Daniel Wagner is the founder and CEO of Country Risk. He has three decades of experience assessing cross-border risk, is an authority on political risk insurance and analysis, and has worked for some of the world’s most respected and best-known companies, such as AIG, GE, the Asian Development Bank, and the World Bank Group. He has published six books – China Vision, AI Supremacy, Virtual Terror, Global Risk Agility and Decision-Making, Managing Country Risk, and Political Risk Insurance Guide – as well as more than 600 articles on current affairs and risk management. Daniel is a regular contributor to such publications as the South China Morning Post, Sunday Guardian, and The National Interest, among many others. He holds master’s degrees in International Relations from the University of Chicago and in International Management from the American Graduate School of International Management (Thunderbird).

Leveraging her engineering and technology background and her operational expertise and profit-and-loss experience, Sepahban has built successful business ventures and advanced systems in the United States and globally. Sepahban is currently CEO of OurOffice Inc., a software company leading a new product category in human resources technology. OurOffice is the provider of an integrated platform that leverages data and machine learning to empower companies with deep insights, curated solutions, and actions to improve diversity, equity, and inclusion. Previously, Sepahban's career spanned world-class, high-tech organizations such as the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, Fortune 500 companies, and technology start-ups. Most recently, Sepahban was senior vice president at General Dynamics with significant global responsibilities. Sepahban serves on the board of Cooper Standard, a publicly traded automotive company, and has held board seats and advisory roles at nonprofits, start-ups, and investment funds.
Profile - Patty Sung Patty Sung Principal, Global Innovation Hub Mercer LLC Patty Sung is a principal in Mercer's Global Innovation Hub. In her role, Sung explores how the workforce will change with the impact of technologies and demographic shifts and how individuals, corporations, and society as a whole should respond to changes occurring at an unprecedented rate. One of her inventions was granted a US patent, which became the foundation of a people analytics tool. Sung also has expertise in using human-centric design methodology to cocreate new approaches and solutions with multiple stakeholders. She is a frequent speaker on the topics of the future of work and corporate innovation, and has published thought leadership across a wide variety of workforce topics. In addition to her consulting and strategy background, Sung has extensive laboratory research experience and has held various scientific research positions in academia as well as in the biotech industry.
Profile - Greg Schu Greg Schu Partner, Management & Technology Advisory Services BDO USA LLP Greg Schu is a partner in BDO's Cybersecurity practice. He has more than 25 years of experience in professional services helping organizations to evaluate risk, governance, and controls, and to understand the areas of focus where business or compliance improvements may be needed. Schu provides services in areas such as information technology (IT) security, data security, risk assessment, IT audit, Sarbanes-Oxley, blockchain initiatives, and payment card industry (PCI) on a local, national, and global basis to Fortune 100 public companies. He has overseen international engagements in a variety of countries and has led IT compliance and security and interaction with government regulatory functions such as the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board. Schu has been a lead speaker and copresenter at the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Minnesota chapter of ISACA, the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants, and at various national seminars and health care conferences.
Profile - Lori Knowlton Lori Knowlton Chief People Officer, Senior Vice President Silicon Laboratories Inc. Lori Knowlton is senior vice president and chief people officer at Silicon Labs Inc. At Silicon Labs, Knowlton is responsible for the company’s overall talent strategy, total rewards, employee communications, community relations, talent acquisition, engagement and culture. Prior to Silicon Labs, Knowlton served as chief people officer for HomeAway.com. During her 10 years there, she supported exponential business growth with global resourcing, created scale and processes across 13 countries, and achieved measurable employee engagement directly linked to feedback and culture. Before HomeAway, Knowlton held progressively responsible roles in technology companies including Progress Software, Interliant, C-bridge Internet Solutions, and the Monitor Company. Her public speaking engagements include events for the National Association of Corporate Directors, the Texas Conference for Women, Connected Women in Technology, DisruptHR, and Women@Austin.
Profile - Jerry Davis Jerry Davis Associate Dean for Business+Impact, Gilbert and Ruth Whitaker Professor of Business Administration, Michigan Ross University of Michigan Jerry Davis taught at Northwestern and Columbia before moving to the University of Michigan, where he is associate dean for Business+Impact, the Gilbert and Ruth Whitaker Professor of Business Administration, and a professor of Sociology. Davis's research is broadly concerned with the effects of finance on society, changes in the corporate economy, and new forms of organization. He has published widely in management, sociology, and finance. His books include The Vanishing American Corporation (2016), Changing your Company from the Inside Out: A Guide for Social Intrapreneurs (2015), Managed by the Markets: How Finance Reshaped America (2009), Organizations and Organizing (2007), and Social Movements and Organization Theory (2005).
Profile - Mark Silva Mark Silva Founder and CEO KITE Mark Silva has built multiple companies and a career connecting the world’s biggest and best enterprises with emerging, disruptive media, platforms and technologies. His latest venture, KITE, is a SaaS platform that helps Global 2000 corporations map, monitor and manage enterprise-wide startup knowledge & activities with one powerful system. Previously Silva launched one of the first 100 commercial websites, CareerMosaic; built industry-leading digital media properties; founded and led the award-winning digital agency, Real Branding, serving clients such as Anheuser-Busch/Inbev, Darden, Disney, Pepsi, Unilever and Warner Brothers. He is an active advisor, investor and speaker at the intersection of enterprise+startups.

Levine is chairman and CEO of Stuart Levine & Associates LLC, a management consulting firm focused on strategy, leadership, global transformation, and strengthening corporate cultures. His internationally best-selling leadership books—including The Six Fundamentals of Success (2004) and Cut to the Chase (2006), published in 30 languages—have sold more than one million copies. Levine is a director of Broadridge Financial Solutions Inc., where he chairs the governance and nominating committee and serves on the audit committee. He also is a director of Northwell Health. In 2011 and 2012, he was named to NACD Directorship magazine’s Directorship 100 list. He is a monthly contributing author to Forbes magazine on the subject of leadership and governance.
Profile - Dave Archer Dave Archer Director, P&G Ventures Consumer Market Knowledge, Procter & Gamble Co. David Archer has contributed to Procter & Gamble’s Consumer and Market Knowledge (CMK) function for more than 30 years. Archer has held positions of increasing responsibility over the three decades he has spent in P&G’s CMK function, and has had extensive experience in driving the success of a wide range of P&G’s products in Europe, the United Kingdom, and the United States. He began his career with P&G in 1988 as CMK manager of Hard Surface Cleaners and Dish, and then held roles as CMK senior manager of European Production Resource; CMK Department manager, United Kingdom and Scandinavia; and CMK director, NA Fabric Care among other leadership roles. He now serves as CMK director of P&G Ventures and Global Innovation Capability. In September of 2017, Archer was inducted into P&G’s Brand Mastery Society
Profile - Bart Edgerton Bart Edgerton Senior Manager, Governance Analytics NACD Barton Edgerton is NACD’s Senior Manager of Governance Analytics where he is responsible for generating insights to elevate board performance through data. Over the past 20 years, he has worked with a variety of boards, private equity firms, and Fortune 500 executives. His research experience includes nearly 10 years at CEB and as an academic at Tufts University. Barton completed his undergraduate work at Colgate University and has two master’s degrees and a Ph.D. from the London School of Economics.
Profile - Paul DeNicola Paul DeNicola Pricipal, Governance Insights Center PwC Paul DeNicola is a managing director at PwC’s Governance Insights Center where he works to extend the firm’s thought leadership in the area of corporate governance. DeNicola also is an associate professor at New York University’s Stern School of Business. Prior to joining PwC, he was director of The Conference Board Governance Center. DeNicola serves on the board of The Society for Corporate Governance and on the Markets Advisory Council of the Council of Institutional Investors. He is a frequent speaker at forums for directors and governance professionals. He has twice been named to NACD Directorship magazine’s list of the 100 most influential people in U.S. corporate governance. DeNicola also was honored as a recipient of the Rising Star Award from the Millstein Center for Corporate Governance and Performance.
Profile - Robert Kress Robert Kress Accenture Security, Managing Director Accenture PLC Robert (Bob) Kress is a managing director and the global quality and risk officer for Accenture Security. Kress is also responsible for Accenture Security's offerings to boards of directors, and he is the Midwest Region Security lead, as well. Kress has also served as the managing director of Global IT Audit in Accenture's Internal Audit organization and as the COO of Accenture's Internal IT organization. Previously, Kress worked in Accenture's Management Consulting and Software Products organizations. He has published two books: Running IT Like a Business (2009) and IT Governance to Drive High Performance (2010). His most recently published articles are Digitizing Internal Audit, Analytics Transforming Internal Audit for a Digital Future, and Innovation in Continuous Risk Assessment. Kress chairs the board of i.c.stars and the advisory board for the College of Engineering at the University of Iowa. He cochairs the technology committee of The Executives Club of Chicago.
