Behind the Boardroom Door: Integrating ERM With Strategy
"Directors' responsibility for enterprise risk management (ERM) means more than reviewing a heat map and making sure that management has identified the correct risks for the company," reports the Boston Business Journal (Feb. 8). A Feb. 13 event put on by the National Association of Corporate Directors New England Chapter will cover the topic of ERM, from risk identification to management and mitigation. The article provides a glimpse into the insights that will be shared by panelists. Among them will be James Lam, president of James Lam and Associates, a risk management consulting firm. Looking ahead to the entirety of 2018, he states, "Directors are appropriately concerned about emerging technologies, demographic shifts, cybersecurity threats, and geopolitical and environmental uncertainties. But we need to expect the unexpected. That is why establishing a robust and resilient ERM program is so critical."
