What is CES?
Celebrating 50 years of innovation, CES takes place every January in Las Vegas with 185,000 global leaders and start-ups from every industry and corner of the globe trying to visit nearly 3,800 booths for a glimpse of the next megatrend. CES has become the launchpad for groundbreaking innovation—from transistor radios in 1967 to self-driving fleet vans in 2017.
How will directors benefit from the NACD CES Experience?
Technology, coupled with the shifting landscape of consumer tastes and social and demographic trends, is disrupting business in every industry at an increasingly rapid pace. Directors must be more proactive than ever before in ensuring that their companies are alert to how these shifts impact the company’s risk profile and strategic plan.
The NACD CES Experience, brought to you in part by Grant Thornton, will cut through the buzz with private, director-curated tours, expert-led talks, and peer exchanges designed to hone in on the most relevant aspects of CES for directors.
Join NACD, your director peers, leading executives, and technology experts to discover how 2018’s innovations and emerging trends will affect your board—from challenging assumptions underlying strategy to disrupting your own governance practices and envisioning new opportunities for creating long-term value.
What directors say . . .
"CES is the most important global innovation show. Multiple new disruptive technologies like AI, self-driving, AR/VR, robotics, wearables, IoT, etc., will dramatically impact future markets and potentially your industry. It is critical that boards be aware of these technologies and discuss the implications for strategy, investments, risks, and opportunities. CES is the one place that boards can actually experience these new technologies. I highly recommend that board directors attend the 2018 NACD CES Experience."
Director, Fashion Incubator San Francisco
Former Director, Deckers Brands
"CES is not only about the future. It is also about 'what is now' and 'what will happen later in the year.' It's the future, yet grounded in reality. I go to CES because I can communicate to my boards about what's coming around the corner."
Director, Martha Graham Center of Contemporary Dance Inc., Microsoft, Seattle Foundation
Former Director, Accenture PLC, AT&T Inc., NCR Corp., RAND Corp., Swedish Healthcare Systems
