NACD Announces New Chair of its Board of Directors

WASHINGTON, DC (May 26, 2016) -- The National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), the advocate for the profession of directorship, has elected Dr. Karen Horn to serve as chair of its board of directors effective May 25, 2016. Horn succeeds Dr. Reatha Clark King, who has served as chair of the NACD board since 2013 and will now serve as chair emerita.

Corporate Directors From Campbell Soup, Cubic, MassMutual, and Navient Become NACD Fellows in Q1 2016

WASHINGTON, DC (May 24, 2016) -- The National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) today announced 65 corporate directors who earned NACD Fellowship—The Gold Standard Director Credential™—during the first quarter of 2016. NACD Releases Guidance to Help Corporate Boards Prepare for an Activist-Investor Challenge

WASHINGTON, DC (April 25, 2016) -- The National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), the advocate for the profession of directorship, today announced a new guide that can help directors prepare for and respond to shareholder-activist challenges. The report offers detailed questions and resources that boards can incorporate into their agendas to help forestall an activist challenge.

Aflac, Cardinal Health, SuperValu, U.S. Steel, and 50 Other Boards Join NACD in Q1 2016

WASHINGTON, DC (Apr. 18, 2016) -- The National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) today announced the names of 54 corporate boards that joined NACD during the first quarter of 2016, including 20 from Fortune 1000 organizations. These new-member boards span a wide range of industries: automotive, banking, biomedical, chemical manufacturing, education, energy and utilities, financial services, food services, healthcare, hospitality, insurance, manufacturing, media and entertainment, natural resources, pharmaceuticals, real estate investment trusts, retail, software, technology, telecommunications and networking, transportation, and more. Of the 54 boards, 39 are public-company boards, 8 are private-company boards, and 7 are boards of nonprofit organizations.
