NACD Announces Peter R. Gleason as Next CEO

WASHINGTON, D.C. (September 19, 2016) – The National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), the standard setter for responsible board leadership, today announced that Peter R. Gleason, current president of NACD, will become president and CEO of NACD in January 2017. After nearly 10 years as CEO, Ken Daly will retire on January 25, 2017.

NACD, Ridge Global, and the Software Engineering Institute at Carnegie Mellon University Announce Cyber-Risk Oversight Program for Corporate Directors

WASHINGTON, DC (Sept. 14, 2016) – With the critical issue of cyber-risk oversight at the top of every board’s agenda, the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), Ridge Global, and the CERT Division of the Software Engineering Institute at Carnegie Mellon University today announced the development of the first-ever NACD Cyber-Risk Oversight Program for corporate directors, which confers the CERT Certificate in Cybersecurity Oversight.

John Deere, JetBlue, Kohl’s and 34 Other Boards Join NACD in Q2 2016

WASHINGTON, DC (July 25, 2016) – Thirty-seven corporate boards joined the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD)—the advocate for the profession of directorship—during the second quarter of 2016. These new member boards span a wide range of industries: banking, business services, chemical manufacturing, construction, energy and utilities, financial services, food services, healthcare, industrial and farm equipment, law enforcement, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, retail, technology, transportation, and more. Of the 37 boards, 25 are public-company boards, 11 are private-company boards, and 1 is the board of a nonprofit organization.

NACD Announces New Chair of its Board of Directors

WASHINGTON, DC (May 26, 2016) -- The National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), the advocate for the profession of directorship, has elected Dr. Karen Horn to serve as chair of its board of directors effective May 25, 2016. Horn succeeds Dr. Reatha Clark King, who has served as chair of the NACD board since 2013 and will now serve as chair emerita.
