WASHINGTON, DC (July 31, 2017) -- Thirty-one corporate boards joined the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), the advocate for the profession of directorship, during the second quarter of 2017. These new member boards span a wide range of industries: aerospace and defense, automotive, chemical manufacturing, computer software, construction, consumer goods, education, energy and utilities, financial services, government, health care, insurance, manufacturing, medical products, metals, natural resources, professional services, retail, and more. Of the 31 boards, 20 are from public companies, 5 are from private companies, and 6 are from nonprofit organizations.

NACD membership enables boards to serve as strategic assets for their enterprises, and empowers corporate directors to serve with confidence in the boardroom. NACD connects directors to a network of more than 17,000 board members from leading public, private, and nonprofit organizations, as well as to 87 percent of the Fortune 1000.

NACD delivers exclusive access to thought-provoking publications and digital resources that address current and emerging leadership issues as well as renowned director-development programs, and provides opportunities to earn NACD Fellowshipthe Gold Standard Director Credential®.

“We are proud to welcome these organizations as NACD Full Board Members. They join more than 1,250 boards enrolled in NACD membership—peers from Fortune 50 corporations, small- and mid-cap companies, private companies, and nonprofit organizations—that are committed to advancing exemplary board leadership. There is no better investment in their board’s development,” said Peter Gleason, president and CEO of NACD.
