GETTING STARTED ON A NEW SEARCH:

The Process:

After submitting your search criteria, you will be contacted by the NACD Directors Registry professional to further discuss and refine your search (within 2 business days).
Your search will be conducted from within our Registry database to locate those candidates that best match your criteria.
You will receive a "short list" of anonymous candidates from the Registry database who match your criteria. Potential candidates are presented anonymously. Professional support to enhance the matching process further is provided if necessary.
From that list you select the most promising prospects and request detailed resumes.
After obtaining the candidates’ consent, we provide you with their detailed resumes and contact information.
If you would like to interview these candidates, you contact them directly.
If a presented candidate is elected to your board, you will notify NACD of your success and a contingency fee will apply.

Fees:

For a nominal search fee, NACD Directors Registry^® provides boards with the opportunity to identify and contact qualified director candidates that match the board’s criteria. An additional contingency fee applies only if your board invites the candidate to serve. This process provides an alternative to traditional search using a method that is efficient, cost-effective, and focused on candidates with a strong desire to add value in the boardroom.

I. Search Fee—applies when you initiate a Directors Registry Search. Fee includes: submitting criteria, one-on-one assistance to refine search criteria, and a report containing the listings of individuals who match your criteria. Resumes and contact information are also included (contingent on the candidate's approval to release that information to your board).

$1000 if the company conducting the search has an active Corporate Board Membership in NACD.
$2500 for all other companies conducting a search

II. Contingency Fee—applies only when you nominate a candidate identified during the search process. Please thoroughly review the Terms and Conditions for details. Acceptance of the terms is required to initiate a search in the NACD Directors Registry.

NACD Corporate Board Members: $10,000^*

All other NACD Members: $13,500

Non-members: $15,000

^* NACD Corporate Board Members receive a 10% discount on multiple placements from the same search.

What does the Registry Candidate experience?

When a board’s search matches a candidate’s criteria:

The candidate is notified that he/she appears on a short list of candidates.
He or she remains anonymous to the board other than qualifications.
If your board wants to learn more about that candidate, he/ she chooses whether to reveal your name and resume to the company/board.

How were the Candidate Profile questions developed?

Questions in the candidate profile are based on experience from live searches and input from member boards. Questions can be searched in many combinations, yielding a rich tapestry of information on candidates.

How do I become a candidate?

Click here to log onto the NACD website using your username and password*. Once you access the site you will see a Directors Registry button on the left hand side. Click that button to begin the simple process.

NACD members will bypass the payment process. Nonmembers will be asked to create an account and pay the $395 annual fee in order to proceed. OR: Join NACD as a member first and participate as a Candidate in the NACD Directors Registry at no cost.
