| How To Become A Candidate |
To become a candidate in the NACD Directors Registry™, you must first register. Registrations are renewed annually. To learn more about how searches are conducted and what you’ll experience as a Candidate, see the Frequently Asked Questions below the registration link. |
| Is there a fee to register? |
NACD Members: Fee is waived.
Nonmembers: $395 annually. Registration and payment must be complete to fill out the Candidate Profile

| How do I fill out my Candidate Profile? |
- To start, please be sure to add the '@nacdonline.org' domain to email program's safe sender list to ensure you recieve all your emails from Directors Registry. If you are using Microsoft Outlook, click here for directions.
- Complete your Candidate Profile online – a simple process that you complete online, right then and there.
- Next, attach your current resume. Be sure to have an electronic copy on hand.
- You'll receive a confirmation that you have successfully completed your registration.
- You continue to update your Registry profile and resume occasionally in order to improve your matching potential

Click here to log onto the NACD website using your username and password*. Once you access the site you will see a Directors Registry button on the left hand side. Click that button to begin the simple process.
- NACD members will bypass the payment process.
- Nonmembers will be asked to create an account and pay the $395 annual fee in order to proceed. OR: Join NACD as a member first and participate as a Candidate in the NACD Directors Registry at no cost.

Already a Candidate? Log onto the NACD website. You will see a Directors Registry button on the left. This button will bring you directly to your personal and confidential profile where you may make any updates or changes necessary.

| How were the Candidate Profile questions developed? |
NACD has been making matches for years. Questions in the candidate profile are based on experience from live searches as well as input from member boards. Questions address an individual demographics, experiences, skills, and preferences with regard to geography. Criteria can be searched in countless combinations, yielding a rich tapestry of information for boards conducting a search. |
| What happens once I’m a candidate? |
- You will be reminded periodically to update your profile, especially if enhancements have been made to the system.
- Meanwhile, boards are submitting criteria for new searches regularly.
When a board’s search criteria matches with your profile:
- You appear on a short list of candidates.
- You are anonymous to the board other than your qualifications.
- You receive notice at this time, and you choose whether to reveal your name and resume to the company/board.
- The company/board contacts you directly if it is interested.

| What will Boards get when searching? |

After submitting its specific search criteria to the NACD Directors Registry, the board receives:
- A qualified “short list” of candidates matching board’s criteria.
- In-depth resumes with relevant experience.
- Professional support to enhance the matching process.
- Contact information (upon consent of candidates).
