NACD is the premier national educational, publishing and consulting organization in board leadership and the only membership association for boards, directors, director-candidates and board advisors. Our mission is to promote high professional standards for board and director conduct, practice, and performance, create forums for peer interaction, enhance director effectiveness, assert the policy interests of directors, and educate boards and directors concerning traditional and cutting-edge issues.
The Capital Area Chapter was chartered by NACD to enhance corporate governance in the Capital Area Region. We provide a local educational and networking opportunity for individuals who serve as directors of corporations and business organizations from all industries, public and private, profit and non-profit. Our vision is to prepare members for effective Board of Director roles within the region and foster the positive image of corporations and business organizations through improved corporate governance. The principal emphasis of the Capital Area NACD Chapter and its events will be to provide vital information and education to current NACD members and their guests.
