From Battlefield to Boardroom
February 28 - March 1, 2012
A Corporate Board Development Program Exclusively for Military Flag and General Officers
Boardrooms require integrity, leadership and passion—the fabric of military leaders. That’s one lesson the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) has learned in the 35 years we've been developing corporate directors. You’ve served the country. You’ve protected the freedoms upon which capitalism is built. Now let us serve you.
What Is It?
From the Battlefield to the Boardroom is an exclusive board development program designed to prepare retired and soon-to-retire military flag and general officers to serve in the boardroom. This premier two-day program covers the gamut from boardroom basics to more complex issues of strategy, oversight and stakeholder management, while creating a platform for flag and general officers, directors, stakeholders and governance professionals to exchange ideas, make connections and build stronger boards.
Attendees will receive premier programming led by directors and corporate governance professionals with years of hands-on experience as well as access to mentorship and networking opportunities with experienced flag and general officers-turned-board members. However, these are only a few reasons to attend. A complete list of attendee benefits can be found here.
Who Should Attend?
- Recently retired and soon-to-retire military flag and general officers who aspire to serve on a corporate board
- Retired military flag and general officers, currently serving on a board, looking to deepen their boardroom knowledge and expand their boardroom service
What is the Cost?
In gratitude for your service, and thanks to the generous contributions of our partners — Korn/Ferry International, Broadridge Financial and KPMG —qualified participants pay only a $500 registration fee. This all-inclusive registration fee covers the cost of the program, meals provided at the course, your two-night stay at the Four Seasons Hotel in Washington, DC, NACD’s How to Become a Director distance learning course and access to select NACD member benefits for one year.
