General James T. Conway

General James T. Conway

Director, Textron, Colt Firearms; General, USMC (Ret.) - 34th Commandant, United States Marine Corps

General James T. Conway serves on the boards of Textron and Colt Firearms. He is also an adjunct faculty member of Georgetown University. As a four-star general, General Conway served as the 34th Commandant of the Marine Corps. As a member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, he was a military advisor to the National Security Council, the secretary of defense, and the president. He retired from active duty after 40 years of commissioned service in late 2010.

Richard J. Daly is the CEO of Broadridge Financial Solutions, Inc. and a member of the Broadridge board of directors. He is a member of the board of trustees of New York Institute of Technology, and a founding member of the board of directors of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Suffolk County, Inc., where he currently serves as an honorary director. Prior to the formation of Broadridge, Mr. Daly founded and was responsible for the Investor Communications Solutions business.

Kenneth Daly has served as the president and CEO of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) since May 2007. Prior to joining NACD, Mr. Daly was a partner at KPMG, where he served as the partner-in-charge of the National Risk Management practice. Retiring in 2005 after 27 years as a partner, Mr. Daly became executive director of KPMG’s Audit Committee Institute (ACI). Mr. Daly is a recognized expert and resource on corporate governance, executive compensation, and corporate board transformation.

Marty J. Evans

Director, Office Depot, Weight Watchers, North Highland Company; Rear Admiral, U.S. Navy (Ret.) - Superintendent, NPS

Rear Admiral Marsha J. (“Marty”) Evans, U.S. Navy (Ret.) served a nearly 30-year career in the U.S. Navy. She is a a director of Office Depot, Weight Watchers International and the North Highland Company. Additionally, she serves on the board of The First Tee. Admiral Evans previously served as the CEO of Girl Scouts of the USA, and as president and CEO of the American Red Cross. In 2009 she was the acting commissioner of the Ladies Professional Golf Association.

Chairman, CounterTack; Admiral, U.S. Navy (Ret.) - Commander, U.S. Central Command

Admiral William J. Fallon is chairman of CounterTack Inc., a cyber-security company. He is also a partner in Tilwell Petroleum, LLC, an advisor to several other businesses, and a distinguished fellow at the Center for Naval Analyses. Admiral Fallon retired from the U.S. Navy after a 40-year career. As head of U.S. Central Command, Admiral Fallon directed all U.S. military operations in the Middle East, Central Asia and the Horn of Africa, focusing on combat efforts in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Peter Gleason is Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer of NACD and serves as Treasurer for the NACD Board of Directors. He also leads NACD’s research group that engages in substantive research projects focused primarily on helping establish and refine leading practices to enhance board performance. Peter serves as a member of NACD’s national faculty presenting on a variety of subjects related to board governance, and is regularly quoted in the national media. He is currently a member of the Business Advisory Board of Nura Life Sciences, LLC and was formerly a Director of The Patriot Fund and the Executive Advisory Panel of the Open Compliance & Ethics Group (OCEG).

Robert E. Hallagan is a director of ResCare, Inc. and a former director of Berkshire Life Insurance Company, the Harvard Business School Alumni Association and the Boston Business Roundtable. Mr. Hallagan is vice chairman – board leadership services and managing director of Korn/Ferry International. He joined Korn/Ferry in 2007 from Heidrick & Struggles, where he recently served as vice chairman. Mr. Hallagan was chairman of NACD from 2006-2010. In 2010 he was appointed chairman emeritus.

Thomas Lynch serves on the board of the Armed Forces Benefit Association, the Catholic Leadership Institute, Economics Pennsylvania and the USO World Board of Governors. Mr. Lynch is a managing partner in public institutions and brokerage at Jones Lang LaSalle. He retired in the rank of Rear Admiral following 31 years of naval service, where he served as chief, Navy Legislative Affairs, command of the Eisenhower Battle Group during Operation Desert Shield, and superintendent of the U.S. Naval Academy.

Chairman, CenturyLink, AEA Investors ASIA, Intelius, FlowMobile; Admiral, U.S. Navy (Ret.) - Vice Chairman, Joint Chief of Staff

Admiral Bill Owens is the chairman of AEA Investors ASIA located in Hong Kong. He is also chairman of CenturyLink, Intelius and FlowMobile, and serves on the boards of Wipro, Polycom, AEA Investors LLC and SAP Private Equity. He is or has served a member of several philanthropic boards. Through November 2005, he was CEO and vice chairman of Nortel. Prior to his career in the private sector, Owens was vice chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Chariman, TherimuneX Pharmaceuticals; CEO, Monticello Capital; Commander, U.S. Navy (Ret.) - Office of Secretary of Defense

Michael Pocalyko is chairman of TherimuneX Pharmaceuticals in Philadelphia and was recently director and audit committee chairman of Herley Industries. Mr. Pocalyko is managing director and CEO of Monticello Capital in Virginia. He has been a corporate director in the advanced-technology manufacturing, engineering services, defense, aerospace and biomedical industries. He previously chaired Advanced Environmental Resources, Inc., and Erdevel Europa in Luxembourg and Saudi Arabia. Mr. Pocalyko is a Beirut veteran, retired commander, and former decorated Navy pilot.

Hugh Shelton serves on the boards of Anheuser Busch Companies, Inc, Red Hat, CACI, Ceramic Products Corporation, Robbins-Gioia and CoVant. He is chairman of the O’Gara Group board of advisors. He also serves as executive director of the General Hugh Shelton Leadership Center at North Carolina State University and as director of the Hugh and Carolyn Shelton Military Neurotrauma Foundation. General Shelton retired as the 14th chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff in 2001 after serving two terms.

Chief Justice, Delaware Supreme Court; U.S. Army (Ret.) - Delaware National Guard

Hon. Myron T. Steele is the chief justice of the Supreme Court of Delaware. Previously, he served as a vice chancellor of the Delaware Court of Chancery. Justice Steele serves as adjunct professor of law at University of Pennsylvania Law School, University of Virginia Law School and Pepperdine University Law School. He currently serves as president elect of the Conference of Chief Justices of the United States and will serve as president effective August 2012.

Dennis T. Whalen is the partner in charge and executive director of KPMG’s Audit Committee Institute (ACI). Mr. Whalen is also a member of KPMG’s National Audit Leadership team and represents the audit practice on a cross-functional team of senior partners focused on making strategic investments and driving innovation into the businesses. He also served as a member of the firm’s U.S. and Americas boards of directors and as the chair of the board’s audit, finance and operations committee.
